Promoting Bonnie & Sage with PaperlessPost

For the past year or so, I’ve been finding myself. My oldest daughter graduated from college, and most recently, my middle baby graduated from high school. I read somewhere that I needed a hobby to help me through my forties. So, I went about researching different activities that could occupy my time.

My first stab at a hobby was making soap. That quickly became my obsession of the day. I learned to make melt and pour soap, milled soap, and hot process soap. Somewhere in all of that soap making, I learned how to make bath soaks and lotion bars. Until I made my own personal care products, I hated the scent of lavender. Well, that was before I smelled dried lavender and lavender essential oil. I’m not sure what I was smelling before, but, I have definitely become a fan.

Because I managed to fill my closet with raw ingredients for soap making, I thought that I should do something with the extras. So, I decided to sell what I couldn’t use. Fast forward a few months, and I had developed an entire little business name — Bonnie & Sage. I worked with my oldest daughter on the name. She’s a PR major so I figured this was her space. It literally took us weeks to agree on a name.

My only efforts at selling was to family and friends and at a couple of vendor spots. However, I recently opted to give online selling a whirl. There are a lot of people interacting on the web. If you want to be noticed, you need to be sure to make yourself seen on as many platforms as possible. Enter Paperless Post. They have a great platform that helps you design everything from postcards to interactive flyers.

I used the tools on Paperless Post to make a flyer to advertise September items for sale in my brand new Etsy shop. To see a live version of the flyer, click here.
