Oh, So Grateful

Oh, So Grateful

Of all of the wonderful things that this life has blessed me with, nothing outweighs my children. They are truly one of the few things that gets me up and moving everyday.

This Mother's Day, I am happy to celebrate them. For loving me and supporting each other...  For working hard to make wise choices, learning from their mistakes, and perfoming to the best of their abilities...  I can't ask for a more wonderful group of kiddos.  They are beautiful inside and out.

On this special weekend, we were able to celebrate my oldest daughter's graduation from the University of Louisiana Lafayette.  I never thought that I would be so happy to see someone wear red. After four short years, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and a minor in Business.  Over this next year, she will be figuring out what to do with her life.  Exploring her options, building on her talents, and networking with both seasoned and young professionals.

I wish her all the best of luck!  I encourage her to use all of her talents and skills to achieve her dreams and then some.  I am so proud of her for serving as a great role model for her siblings.

Of course, this day would not be possible without our family.  We are as blended as they get!  Two dads, seven siblings, three sets of grandparents, great grandparents, aunties and uncles, and cousins and lifelong family friends.  We make "it takes a village" reality.

Finally, thank you to the moms in my life who make me whole.  They have seen me at my worst and loved me anyway (don't know if they liked me all of the time).  Through mostly thick, my mom and sister have been my foundation (this is all you get ladies...  those words won't pass these lips).

So on today, Mother's Day 2017, I have so much to be thankful for and celebrate.  On top of that, we couldn't ask for better weather.

Yes, I am holding a margarita.  Margarita!!!  Yes, I need a mani-pedi.
